This development involved the construction of a 86 bedroom Hotel built on piled foundations with a steel frame structure, concrete floors, pitched roof and timber cladding incorporating curtain wall glazing. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms which are formed from pre-formed bathroom pods which were positioned following the completion of each floor level. Due to the location of the site it was necessary to carry out extensive underground drilling beneath the adjacent roads and roundabouts to form the main drainage connections. The development provided associated facilities including public areas, kitchen, dining areas and a large car park. Extensive hard and soft landscaping works were also carried out. Works were carefully planned to minimize any disruption to the adjacent retail park which required careful scheduling of all deliveries to the site and restriction of large vehicles.
